Royal Baby Girl named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and Prince William have named their daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.
The chubby cheeked precious bundle of joy will be known as HRH Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, Kensington Palace have announced.
The name chosen for the Royal Baby Girl speaks for itself, and is a homage to her grandfather Prince Charles's French heritage, the Great-Grandmother Queen Elizabeth, and late Grandmother Princess Diana of Wales.
Princess Charlotte was born on Saturday morning, at the private Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, where her brother Prince George, and father Prince William had also been born.
She weighed a healthy 8lbs and 3oz at the time of her birth, and the mother and baby left the hospital 12 hours later.
Much has been written about the name 'Charlotte' being a feminine version of the name 'Charles', while sources suggest that the Royal Couple just happened to like the name too.
'Charlotte' is also the middle name of Kate's sister Pippa Middleton, and in French means 'petite' or 'feminine'.
William's Uncle Earl Spencer's two year old daughter is also coincidentally named Charlotte Diana.
Here's wishing the beautiful Princess Charlotte a lifetime of joy and happiness!
