Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review

Micellar waters have been all the rage for the past few years, and with the release of Bioderma Sensibio H2O, professional makeup artists and beauty junkies have not stopped raving about it.

What Are Micellar Waters?

So what are micellar waters? They really just seem like a clear bottle of water, odourless, leave the skin squeaky clean and soft, and have become a must have in most beauty routines.

Micellar water is made up of micelles, which are tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules, suspended in soft water.

Micelles are attracted to dirt and oil, therefore they are able to cleanse the skin well without drying it out.

In a nutshell, a bottle of micellar water can be used as a cleansing solution, a facial wash and a moisturiser all in one!

The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

While the only drawback of the Bioderma Sensibio H2O is that it way too heavy on the pocket, there is hardly any cleansing solution that offers the same result as the Bioderma.

Here comes the new vixen of the market, the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, a clear bottle with a pink flip-top cap, and works as well as the Bioderma!

Garnier Micellar Water comes in a 13.5 oz bottle, which is huge, and claims to give 200 uses, which may or may not be accurate, but one can certainly get a lot of uses from this product.

The Garnier formula is fragrance-less, which is a great feature in our opinion, and is perfect for all skin types including dry and sensitive.

It takes off about 95% of makeup including foundation and mascara, but wasn't able to get off an intense black kohl pencil completely, and left traces of it.

There is apparently a blue flip-top bottle in the market, which is meant for to remove waterproof makeup, but we couldn't spot it at our local stores.

The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is very gentle on the skin, leaves it soft, supple and refreshed, and is an amazing option for the lazy girl who can't bring herself to give her skin a thorough cleansing daily.

Splash a small amount of the water onto a cotton pad and wipe off your face gently, wet or dry regardless, and it will leave your skin cool and clean.

It can be used to remove makeup from the eyes, lips and face, and can also be just used as a cleansing solution to cleanse your face off of impurities and dirt.

You do not have to rub or scrub the product onto your skin, a soft and gentle wipe does the trick, and cleanses easily without tugging.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water vs Bioderma Sensibio H2O

Bioderma comes under the high-end category, while Garnier is a drugstore dupe, and is made of lesser ingredients than Bioderma.

Bioderma contains natural ingredients such as cucumber and fruit extracts, probably why it is so expensive, but Garnier does an equally amazing job in almost the same price, but gives four times the quantity.

The 100 ml Bioderma bottle retails for $6.90, while the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water gives 400 ml for a dirt cheap price of $6.96 at Walmart!

Both the formulas contain water and glycerine, but Garnier is definitely the better option, and you can always opt for the waterproof blue bottle formula if you use waterproof mascara or eyeliner.

Garnier also claims to be hypoallergenic, alcohol free, perfume and paraben free as well, and is 'dermatologically tested to ensure effectiveness and respect for the skin'.

Benefits of Micellar Waters

Acne prone skin can get a lot of benefits from micellar waters as they unclog pores and thoroughly remove makeup, letting the skin breathe.

For oily skin, micellar waters gently remove excess oil from the skin with over drying and stripping the skin off completely.

For normal to dry skin, a good every day cleansing solution is essential, and while one might not have enough time to go through with their detailed cleansing routines with creams or oils, micellar waters work well enough in lesser time and give almost the same result.

The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is widely available at all drugstores and online, and you can also get it cheaper with coupons, discount codes or deals.

It is a game changing product, not heavy on the pocket, and one bottle will certainly last for you weeks. You will love it for sure!
