Mckenna Grace Wears Starry Night Almée Couture Gown in London

Mckenna Grace has worn a lot of gowns on this Hunger Games tour, but her London one is basically a painting you can wear. She attended the UK fan screening of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping at Westfield London on Wednesday, October 28, in a beaded gown from Almée Couture’s Spring Symphony “Le Jardin des Rêves” collection.

The dress tells a whole story from top to bottom. The fitted bodice has thin straps and a sweetheart neckline, covered in tiny beads and sequins that swirl in blue, white, green and gold like Van Gogh’s Starry Night. Below the swirling sky, a landscape of blue mountains and rolling green hills runs down the waist, with a tiny cottage in a yellow meadow and trees in bright pink blossom. Down at the hips, big three-dimensional purple irises burst out of the fabric, and long green stems trail down over a blush glittery tulle skirt that spreads into a train. It looks like it took forever to make, because it surely did.

Almée Couture is a young Cambodian couture house, founded in 2024 by designer Taing Sokhang, who goes by Hang. The label is known for heavily hand-beaded, sculptural gowns, and it showed at New York Fashion Week earlier this year.

Mckenna kept everything else simple, so the gown could do the work. She wore her blonde hair in a sleek low ponytail with a long side-swept fringe, and her makeup was soft lilac eyeshadow with pink cheeks and a glossy nude pink lip. She added a pair of leaf-shaped drop earrings in green and yellow gemstones, which pick up the colors in the dress. They added a nice touch of sparkle without crowding the beads.
