Rimmel London launched the Rimmel Lycra Pro Colour Memory Nail Polish for the Summer of 2011. The nail polish says to give a 'just out of the bottle' look with an anti-fade system which will last up to ten days. It is super-durable, high gloss and chip resistant with a maxi brush to help sweep the nail in one go.
I was sent two colours, 412 Chic Cherry (a glittery purple) and 306 Velvet Rose (a feminine pink) to review.

Rimmel Lycra Pro Colour Memory Nail Polish in 306 Velvet Rose

I like this shade, it has become one of my favourites shades of nail polishes. It can be worn during the day or at night. It is a glossy shade without glitter, very feminine and looks fabulous after application. It does have a 'just out of bottle' look, high shine and is durable. I didn't find it to be chip-resistant, although I was very careful with the application, but one of my nails chipped and I had to apply a third coat. I am wearing two coats of Velvet Rose without a base and top coat.

I found the Rimmel Lycra Pro Color Memory nail colour hard to manage after applying the base coat, although I let the base coat dry for a good ten minutes, but still the nail colour stuck to the base coat and produced a very untidy effect. I use the Rimmel base/top coat which works fine with every other nail polish.

Rimmel Lycra Pro Colour Memory Nail Polish in 412 Chic Cherry

412 Chic Cherry is a dark glittery purple, perfect for wearing at night (I couldn't get the glittery effect of this nail colour on the camera). The colour is a tad bit strong for my taste but still I received compliments that it suited me. I didn't like the maxi brush. As you can see, it gave me untidy edges, and it brought off too much colour on the brush that I had to lessen it again and again by wiping it off on the bottle.

Rimmel Lycra Pro Colour Memory Nail Polishes are available for £4.59 each.

Disclaimer: PR sample(s) sent for review. This however did not influence my opinions and thoughts anyhow.
