A fusion of east and west, Chanel Pre-Fall 2012

Chanel takes inspiration from a Mugal queen and presents a Pre-Fall 2012 collection filled with extravagant jewels and lush materials such as silk, with metallic hues and the trademark Chanel black & white. Models drape elegant long-shirts and skinnes, better known as "kurtas and pajamas" in India, along with skirts. The looks are given the Eastern feel with heavy jewellery and headpieces known as "tikkas". A lot of embellishments and embroidery is seen, along with gorgeous pearls. Satchels in matching hues are quilted with chains, which is again, one of the most Chanel loved pieces. Footwear is flat, although a bit more colour and some heels would have made the collection truly luxurious.
