It's a proud day for Pakistan as it took home its first ever Oscar. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy won the Golden Boy for her documentary (short) 'Saving Face' based on acid victims. The journalist and film maker has previously won an Emmy for her documentary 'Pakistan: Children of the Taliban' in 2010. She is also the first non-American to win the Livingston Award for Young Journalists. The thirty-eight year old shares her Oscar win with co-director Daniel Junge. She dedicated her win to the courageous women of Pakistan, and looked ravishing dressed in a white embellished creation by Pakistani designer Bunto Kazmi. For her work on other films, Sharmeen has previously received the Overseas Press Club Award, the American Women in Radio and Television Award, the Cine Golden Eagle Award and the Banff Rockie Award.
