Met Gala 2012: A Fashion Roundup

The Met Gala is always a happening affair. The fashion and entertainment industry's glitz and glam is all under one roof, flaunting their very best in terms of style and fashion. The Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala 2012 had the crème de le crème of Hollywood dressed to perfection, some overshadowing others, some making a strong style statement. The hottest and the trendiest celebrities were seen at the event, looking glamorous, with heaven's stars shinning on them. There was a mix of colours and trends in terms of outfits, some opting for black, some for silver; some showing off legs, while others wore conservative outfits with minimal skin showing. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow kept it simple with a mid-thigh length silver Prada dress, accessorized with matching heels, a clutch, drop earrings.

Rihanna shed off her usual wild style, and opted for a sophisticated black floor-length Tom Ford dress, paired up with Christian Louboutin heels.

Gisele Bundchen kept it supermodel sexy with a slinky black Givenchy outfit along with David Yurman jewels.

Twilight babe Kristen Stewart wore head to toe Balenciaga, with a colour blocking dress and pretty black and white strappy heels.

January Jones stole the show with a nearly neon yellow Versace Atelier dress from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection, with Cartier jewels.

Camilla Belle brought the vampy look on with a dark lipcolour, but with a sexy shimmering silver Ralph Lauren dress with Ralph Lauren jewels.

Face of Burberry, British model and actress, Rosie-Huntington Whiteley wore a full covering shimmery black dress by Burberry.

New mother Beyonce, showed off a lot of skin in a custom Givenchy Haute Couture gown, which showed off her new curves.

Kate Upton, who famously paid $25k for her seat to the Met Gala, shined in a Michael Kors dress with slicked hair and a deep red lipcolour.

Victoria Justice kept it adorable with a floral creation from McQ Alexander McQueen, with a Alexander McQueen clucth, and velvet heels. This is the first outfit from the new label to be worn on a red carpet.

Actress Scarlett Johansson was her usual alluring self in an embellished creation from Dolce & Gabbana, with a mesh skirt.

Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev wore a Donna Karan Atelier gown, with Jimmy Choo heels, H. Stern jewellery, and a Judith Lieber clutch.

VS model Anja Rubik took the thigh-split to another level as she showed off her hip bone and no underwear in an Anthony Vaccarello silk cream number, paired with a golden clutch.

Karolina Kurkova impressed in a glamorous outfit by Rachel Zoe, complete with a head wrap.

Candice Swanepoel didn't opt for the higher-end labels, and wore a royal blue dress from Rag & Bone.

Chanel Iman looked stunning in a black and white dress from the Tom Ford Fall/Winter 2012 collection, paired with sultry smoky eyes.
