From runway to red carpet, explore fashion trends, model buzz, celebrity looks, and expert editorials that define modern style.
Kim Kardashian and Kayne West are under fire for giving their baby girl an awkward name: North West! Fans are outraged and critics are mocking the superstar couple. Apparently, the name was given the seal of approval by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who is a close friend of Kayne West. The rap star popped the name suggestion over dinner at the Met Gala in May, and Anna loved it. It was Kim was laughed at the suggestion when she appeared on Jay Leno in March, and swore that wasn't happening, and joked that 'Easton West' was under consideration. So it's Kayne, who's controlling the decision making in the couple's relation. Bearing the Kardashian tag, Kim was big on a 'K' name, even Kaidence in honour of Kayne's mother, but the couple has signed on the birth certificate and it's all decided now. Baby North, Nori for short, born a month premature, isn't the first to be stuck with an awful name. With the fashion trends they follow, celebrities have a weird trend of giving unique, rather awful names to their off springs. North West comes after Beyonce and Jay-Z naming their beautiful baby girl Blue Ivy, which fans have mocked off as a stripper name. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Cold Play lead, husband Chris Martin shockingly named their daughter Apple. Zuma Nesta Rock was the name given by Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale to their son. Sylvester Stallone named his son Sage Moonblood. Son of American actress, Shannyn Sossamon, was given perhaps the strangest name of all, Audio Science. Holly Madison named her daughter Rainbow Aurora, impressed by the natural phenomenon. U2 frontman Bono's daughter is named Memphis Eve, perhaps inspired by his favourite city and time of the day. Frank Zappa gave his daughter a long name Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen Zappa, and Rob Morrow went on to name his baby boy Tu Morrow. Surely the celebrities are rich, powerful, and famous, but lets hope this trend of awful baby names stops, or bullying is abolished before these babies reach fourth grade.
