The Body Shop created quite a hype when it released the Shimmer Cubes in 2013. They were always on my Wishlist as I was intrigued by the great color pay-off and the huge amount of product offered in it. With its perks, the heavy price tag was a let down for me, and I waited till the annual sale to get my hands on this. I picked up The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes palette #07 in 'Sugar Plum'.

The Shimmer Cubes palette offers four blocks of shimmery eyeshade that are each 3.5 g and that is surely a generous amount that will last you for life. The Sugar Plum palette includes the shades Dusted Silver, Rich Bronze, Ruby, and Argyle Pink. Each shade can be used individually or together to create a subtle or dramatic look. The Shimmer Cubes palette offers a great variation for day to night looks, that would be perfect for all seasons too.

Argyle Pink

These shades are insanely pigmented and can be used both dry and wet. Swatches below without a primer will show how beautiful these colors look. One swipe each is enough to create a bold and attention grabbing looks.

Although these shades offer an excess of shimmer, I haven't experienced such a fallout that would bother me or ruin my make up. Using a primer would certainly help manage any fallouts too.

Dusted Silver

The Dusted Silver shade is one that is offered in all the Shimmer Cubes palette, and serves as a highlight from the bunch. This glamorous shade can be applied on the brow bone for a dazzling effect or can even be used on the cheeks, but beware of the high amount of shimmer it contains.

Rich Bronze

The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes are gentle on the skin as well, and contain Marula Oil, that helps condition the skin. Its fatty acids provide moisture and serves as a barrier on the skin against damage and harm.

Recommended to be used with The Body Shop slanted eyeshadow brush, the Shimmer Cubes would be a dazzling addition to any make up junkie's collection. The quality and quantity is great, but I wish the price wouldn't be heavy on the pocket.

Each Shimmer Cubes Palette containing four cubes, retails at £16/$22, and is available online and at The Body Shop outlets all over the world.
