The Body Shop Tea Tree Cool and Creamy Face Wash Review
Review of The Body Shop Tea Tree Cool & Creamy Face Wash.
I had tried this face wash earlier this year, and was itching to do a review. Why? Not because I am in love with it, but this is the first The Body Shop product that I actually dislike. When I first saw this in stores, my heart some how kept urging me to try this. Maybe the 'Cool & Creamy' title attracted me, or maybe because the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash from this range is my number one favorite.
I finally decided to pick this up, and since a promotion was going on, I also picked up the Tea Tree Squeaky Clean Scrub. I should have taken the hint when the sales assistant was quite apprehensive why I was buying two face washes, and kept urging me to take the Vitamin C Face Polish instead of this. Sadly I picked this up, and was disappointed at the first wash.
The face wash comes in a 100 ml tube with a flip-top cap. Like most TBS products, the packaging is a disaster, and is a hassle to manage. The creamy wash doesn't lather, and smells of tea tree oil, which seems pleasant to me, however some might not like it.
First, this leaves a heavy feel on my oily-combination skin. While it should feel light, the thick cream texture felt suffocating for my skin, and I didn't feel that it cleaned the skin at all. It barely has a cooling affect, unless you massage it for over two minutes or more, and even that doesn't last for more than ten minutes. It does nothing to keep the blemishes at bay, nor does it keep the skin supple, or keep the skin matte. My skin felt dirty and clogged after using this face wash. Even make up residue is left behind on the skin.
Like all The Body Shop products, this comes with a heft price. For me, this was a waste of money, and is one of the products I regret buying. However the Squeaky Clean Scrub is a dream, and I would suggest to pick that up. (Squeaky Clean Scrub works more like a daily face wash rather than an exfoliation scrub.)
The Body Shop Tea Tree Cool & Creamy Wash retails at $12.50 for 100 ml, and is available online, and at all TBS outlets.
