Marc by Marc Jacobs enlists models from Instagram for its Fall 2014 Campaign
The Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2014 Campaign features models enlisted from Instagram.
Marc by Marc Jacobs' new creative director and design director Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley made quite a bold choice for the Fall 2014 Campaign with a cast of real people and not models signed by agencies. Marc Jacobs and stylist Katie Grand opted to use Instagram to enlist new faces for the campaign, and asked interested followers to submit their photos in April with the hashtag #CastMeMarc. 70,000 entries were brought down to 50 by casting director Anita Bitton, and 30 finalists from around the world, including South Korea, Russia and Australia, were flown to New York. Nine made the final cut and were photographed by David Sims in the month of May. Bold fashion choices are seen in the campaign and the models flaunts bubble gum pink and blue hair and bright designs.
