Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed tie the knot in Santa Monica

'The Vampire Diaries' heartthrob Ian Somerhalder tied the knot with his girlfriend of nine months, in a romantic ceremony on the mountains of Santa Monica.

The 36 year old actor proposed to his 26 year old actress girlfriend in December 2014, and planned a spring wedding.

The couple, an avid animal and nature lover, stayed close to nature in their simple and intimate ceremony, and enjoyed the day with close friends and family.

Ian looked handsome in a white suit, while Nikki dazzled in a figure hugging fishtail gown with an open back and long lace sleeves.

The bride had her hair in curls swept to one side, and also carried a bouquet of white flowers, and the two looked much in love as they posed for photographers.

This marks the second wedding for Nikki, whose first husband Paul McDonald was an American Idol contestant, while this is Ian first's wedding, but he had a long term relation with TVD co-star Nina Dobrev.
