Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana presented their Fall 2016 Couture collection in the Naples, after the Fall/Winter 2016 Campaign was inspired from the city as well.
Though the Alta Moda collection is for the blue-blooded elite, this time the collection made tracks for Naples, the third largest municipality in Italy.
Dolce & Gabbana's collection as always was not about dramatic and opulent designer garments, but a story unfolding right on the runway.
The venue was adorned in an opera inspired setting with red velvet curtains and royal chairs, and homage was paid to Naples and movie icon Sophia Loren, who has always been a D&G muse.
Models strutted down the runway in elaborate headpieces and brocade coats with bejewelled appliques and statement jewellery in cross shapes.
Fit and flare silhouettes, billowing sleeves and balconette neckline were also seen, and a model dressed in a floral corseted swimsuit also walked the ramp with a Miss Eleganza satin sash, reminding of Sophia Loren's beauty pageant days.
Denim pants embellished with gems, styled with lace tops, and elegant layered dresses were also presented, paired with accessories to match.
Bejewelled bodices caught the eye, and floral calf-length dresses in lively hues were also the most alluring designs featured in the couture show.
