The secret for the Carrarra marble effect of the lips is a strong and smooth matte white base with swirls of colour.

Initially gray was the colour used on the pouts to give it the original marble effect, however, more and more beauty bloggers and makeup artists have experimented with a variety of colours, turning marble lips into a true work of art.

After applying a layer of matte white base on to the lips, use a very thin brush to create swirls and flecks using a second shade that you desire.

A third shade can be added on to create the 'marble' effect, and the creation has to be topped off with clear lip gloss to add oomph and shine.
