Do’s & Don’ts Of Applying An Eye Cream

There is nothing like having the perfect skin. Unfortunately, not everyone is born with that perfect complexion. Some individuals are, but there is also a great deal that isn’t. There probably are more people that are born with woes and imperfections as compared to individuals that are born with great complexions. This is why there so many cosmetic products currently available on the market to correct certain woes and imperfections. That being said, one of the most common skin flaws, usually associated with loss of collagen and age, is sagging under the eyes or commonly referred to as crow’s feet. Luckily, there are a number of eye creams currently available on the market that can target this specific problem. The only two hurdles in the way are choosing the right product and learning to apply it correctly.

Give It Some Time

It doesn’t matter what brand or how much you paid for your eye cream, it is going to take time to work. This is especially true when you are applying it as a part of your base. Most people apply it and expect immediate results. Sure, these cosmetic products can work magic, but they do take time. Once you apply the cream, you have to give you skin the sufficient time to soak up all the necessary hydrating ingredients. Never immediately apply under the eye concealer or other makeup after apply eye cream. Make sure that you give it at least a minute or two for the ingredients to work their magic.

Never Tug At The Skin

If you ever find yourself tugging at your skin when applying eye creams then you are missing the whole concept of eye cream. Products like an effective eye cream for fine lines were specifically designed to hide to fine lines and wrinkles. When you are tugging at the skin during application it is only going to further increase the presence of wrinkles and fines lines because you are pulling the skin taut and then letting it sag back together. You have to think of it as stretching a piece of elastic. You can stretch it as much as you want and it will go back to its normal size, but it is always going to be more wrinkled after the first initial stretch.

Be Care About Application Dosage

You have probably heard the saying less is more. The statement couldn’t be truer when it comes to eye creams. Most people mistake eye creams for lotions or similar skin products. Eye creams are in fact nothing like traditional lotions and should by no means be applied in the same manner. Eye creams never need to be applied in excess or to other areas of the face. You usually only need to utilize right around a pea size dosage, depending on the type of cream that you are using. In addition to this, the cream should only be applied under the eyes. The idea is to target the skin around the eyes and firm it up to help reduce the appearance of those fine lines and wrinkles.
