3 Figure Skaters Who Can Easily be Mistaken for Professional Models

Discover three figure skaters who effortlessly embody the aesthetics of professional models, seamlessly blending athleticism and elegance.

Most male and female athletes of the highest order have splendid physiques and figures to match, not to mention that some of them are popular celebrities as well. However, an athlete’s figure will vary widely in structure and shape depending on the sport or athletic event in which they participate.

3 Figure Skaters Who Can Easily be Mistaken for Professional Models

While famous athletes are already fitness role models by default, their defined physiques are not likely to be mistaken as that of a pro model. There are always exceptions though, especially if we are discussing something as elegant as figure skating. Figure skating combines dance with sports in a brilliant display of coordination, balance and performance on stage. Therefore, it is only natural that people often do make the mistake of thinking that the following figure skaters are fashion models by profession.

Emmi Peltonen (Finland)

Emmi Peltonen was born in Tennessee, USA, and she put on her first ice skates in Nashville at the tender age of two! However, her career as a junior only gained momentum after her father’s contract with the Nashville Predators ice hockey team came to an end, prompting the family’s return to Finland.

The young and gorgeous Emmi Peltonen comes from a Finnish family with a figure skating and ice hockey background. Her mother Hanna was a figure skater as well, while her father and grandfather were both ice hockey players. She won the FBMA Trophy in 2017, secured the 20th position at the 2018 Winter Olympics, and won the silver medal at the 2020 Nordic Championships. Several other accomplishments of the 21-year-old beauty are also spread across the entire figure skating world.

Tanith Belbin (USA)

Up until her retirement in 2010, the Canadian-American NBC Sports anchor had represented Team USA several times at various figure skating and ice dancing events held in Canada, the US and Europe. The stunning dancer and skater has held more accolades than we can count in her prime years, but here’s a small list of the most significant ones (as a duo with Benjamin Agosto):

  • Stood Second at the Winter Olympics 2006 in Four Figure Skating
  • Won the Four Continents Figure Skating Championships (4CC) 3 times
  • Won the U.S. Figure Skating Championships 5 times

If you mistake Tanith Belbin for a pro model, you would not be completely wrong either, as she was indeed an official model for Ford.

Alina Ilnazovna Zagitova (Russia)

Alina Ilnazovna Zagitova is an extremely talented figure skater who won gold at the 2018 Winter Olympics, as well as being placed first in the 2018 European Figure Skating Championships. Alina is one of the most attractive women in figure skating today, and she may pursue a career in show business later on.

A full list would have been much longer, because there are so many gorgeous figure skaters across the world today. Considering that both models and figure skaters work the stage, albeit in their own ways, they do have more in common among themselves than we realize.
