Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2022 Ready-to-Wear Fashion Show

The Covid-19 pandemic left us longing to dress up and head out, but the on and off lockdowns had us killing time dressed in pjs and old tees. Dolce & Gabbana for its Milan SS22 Fashion Show titled DG Light, put together fun-fashion pieces that were inspired to break free from the shackles of being homebound, and just heading out to have fun. Taking a trip back to the 2000s, DG Light was a fun fuse of avant garde designs, with lots of chunky wide belts, embellished buckles, low slung cargo pants, skinny trousers and underwear peeking out the waistbands of trousers. Putting on a rebellious front of finally getting out the house, the models walked the ramp in slip dresses and bralets worn over shirts - basically underwear as outerwear.

The Y2K was the clear reference of the collection, and DG Light also features gemstone encrusted jeans and shiny reflective sequins. The 60s got a mention too with the mini dress and go go boots combo, and 80s was also spotted with tie-dye shirts, ruffled shoulders and graphic tees with JLo on them. Dazzling party looks were also seen on the ramp, and the Dolce & Gabbana collection was all about getting out of the boundaries and having a ball of a time.
