High-street fashion brand H&M has collaborated with American lifestyle brand No Fear on a collection of skate-inspired streetwear, co-created alongside The Skate Kitchen. Bringing forth a total of 23 designs in the collection, that include oversized t-shirts, crop tops, sweatshirts, varsity jackets, tracksuits and joggers, detailed and designed with graphic logos and illustrations. Eleven pieces of accessories are also included in the collection, such as beanies, trainers, scarves and stickers.
With a colour palette of greens, khaki, black and off-white, the mostly genderless collection offers a fit of oversized garments, that was the signature style of the 90’s skate brand, though includes smart fit pieces too. The campaign for the collection stars the all-girl skate group called The Skate Kitchen, and delivers the message of equality and inclusion, which is also the stance of The Skate Kitchen. The H&M x No Fear collection is set to launch in stores and online on October 1st, and the campaign gives the message of dismantling fear and channeling it into something positive.
“We’re thrilled to be collaborating with No Fear and partnering with The Skate Kitchen for this confident, empowering collection,” said Emily Björkeheim, H&M’s head of design at Divided, in a release. “The silhouettes balance oversized with tighter fits, all with a relaxed, unisex vibe, while the graphic logos and subtle varsity touches are key. We hope that young people around the world take the message of this collaboration to heart - write your own rules and don’t let fear stand in the way of your dreams.”
