Zayn and Gigi to co-parent daughter Khai after breaking up

Multiples sources confirm that American supermodel Gigi Hadid has called it quits with her boyfriend and father of one year old daughter Khai, singer Zayn Malik. The break-up took place after Gigi's mom Yolanda Hadid's accusations of Zayn 'striking' her came forth. "They are not together right now. They are both good parents though,' a source revealed to People on Thursday, adding that the former couple 'co-parent' their one-year-old daughter Khai. The former One Direction singer Zayn and the model, who have dated on/off since 2015, welcomed their only child in September 2020, with the confirmation of the pregnancy hitting news in the spring of that year.

According to TMZ, Yolanda alleges she was 'struck' by Zayn during an altercation that occurred 'some point last week,' while Zayn posted online to claim that the incident involved nothing more than an exchange of 'harsh words' and had taken place 'several weeks ago' at Gigi's home, while the model had been out for work. Sources also cite that Yolanda is considering filing a police report, although no further details have been provided in regards to what may have triggered the alleged scuffle between the two.

'They co-parent. Yolanda is of course very protective of Gigi. She wants the best for her daughter and grandchild,' a representative for Gigi told E! adding on that the model 'is solely focused on the best for Khai' and that 'she asks for privacy during this time.'

Taking to Twitter, Zayn posted a note, which was followed up by a statement to TMZ, in which Zayn said, 'I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private,' published shortly after his Twitter post.
