Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2022 Collection

Marc Jacobs is a true showman. From the 1990s’ and the early 2000s’, his runways have been full of adrenaline, and as per tradition, filled with pomp, and very high levels of production. This season, however, came as a shock, as the designer opted not to go his traditional runway track, but his designs continued to be impeccable and admirable. Showcasing a ten-piece collection, photographed by Amy Troost, the Marc Jacobs designs dripped of sophistication and elegance and  effortless style and charm as per all previous collections.

The collection included ten eye-catching and dramatic gowns, that oozed off novel styling and bold construction. Practical materials were used for the collection, including denim and puffer jackets, but used the non-conventional ways, such as jean maxi skirts with embossed patterns were seen in several ensembles, styled with matching oversized denim jackets. The tops that were used with the designs comprised of strands of metallic paillettes, wrapped around the torso of the models.

Another highlight of the collection were voluminous puffer jackets, seen in hues of stark black and white shades, continuing the dystopian theme of the collection. The puffer jacket material was fashioned into a series of vests, jackets, skirts, and capes that also brought forth a futuristic vibe to the studio-shot presentation of the show.

Marc Jacobs steps into a brand new direction with this show, and also plays along with exaggerated cutouts. Also seen in the collection were what seemed to be shredded T-shirts, styled with wide-leg sweatpants in the same material. The looked sexy, edgy, and unconventional, hanging off the models' lithe physiques.
