Y-3 & Real Madrid Collaborate on New Collection

Y-3 collaborates with acclaimed football club Real Madrid on an exclusive new collection and also commemorates two big events. Real Madrid is celebrating its 120th anniversary at the same time as designer Yohji Yamamoto is celebrating twenty years at the creative helm of Y-3. Presenting a unique capsule collection, with pieces that you can wear on and off the pitch, the collection identifies how Y-3 and Real Madrid have pushed the boundaries of both fashion and sports.

The campaign for the collection is appropriately titled 'The Ceremony,' and its campaign takes inspiration by Yohji Yamamoto’s signature black style. The images follow the story of two lovers who, led by the past, move towards their future. Starring in the campaign is a diverse cast of watchers, which include players from Real Madrid and club great Iker Casillas. Y-3 had also collaborated with Y-3 on Real Madrid’s third kit for the 2014-15 season, and now brings a selection of designs that have a more extensive range representing energy and speed. The collection includes a black fourth kit with white details, along with a pink goalkeeper kit with white accents for the Real Madrid men’s team. The kit is also detailed with the Y-3 branding and “hand painted” stripes, numbers, and names.

Among the designs are the Light Shell Anthem Jacket and Pants, that have laser-cut embellishments for the pitch. The off-pitch collection offers a black t-shirt with the Real Madrid emblem and the Y-3 logo on the back, and a luxury elongated scarf, and a wash-bag with white accents.
