Luxury jewelers Cartier hosted the world premiere of its latest High Jewelry Collection at at star-studded affair held in Madrid, Spain. The gala took place in an 18th century estate, was attended by the likes of A-list stars including Black-ish star Yara Shahidi, Youtuber Emma Chamberlain, South Korean girl band sensation Jisoo, and Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani amongst others, with music provided by the Black Eyed Peas.
The latest collection from the French jewelers takes inspiration by the natural world. The highlight of the collection is certainly the Apatura necklace, with its shimmering colors suggestive of delicate butterfly wings. Cartier’s designers let no stone unturned to match the color requirements, incorporating a mix of precious diamonds, orange sapphires and sapphire beads, and opals into the collection. The Récif necklace is inspired from coral reefs, and is studded with diamonds for the ‘atoll’, and orange and green for a calm balance of a coral’s fauna and flora. The precious Iwana necklace is a dazzling piece, and is dominated by 43.45-carat Colombian emeralds, evoking the skin of a green iguana.
The latest Cartier Beautés du Monde collection also offers a capsule collection that includes seven rings, again, with a theme of the natural world. Each ring represents the bounties of the universe, from the depths of the oceans to the heavenly skies above. The seven ‘treasures’ that form the Capsule collection include, Homer’s mythological creature, the chimera; an ammonite fossil; a sea monster; a constellation; a geological crystallization; a Chinese puzzle; and finally, a crustacean shell.
