Prada Spring/Summer 2023 Milan Fashion Week Runway

For Prada's Spring/Summer 2023 Milan Fashion Week Show, designers Raf Simons and Miuccia Prada' fused together goth futurism and business casual. The Italian luxury house partnered with film director Nicolas Winding Refn to reimagine the Fondazione Prada as their runway, and the models walked on a dimly-lit runway, as sinister sci-fi music could be heard in the background. The show opened up as a world of tailored beige and gray garments and then eased into pops of color, with statement handbags including Prada's beloved triangle bags brought forth in dusty pink and dazzling neon hues. 

Models sashayed down the ramp wearing trench coats, layered with the classic Prada button-downs. The new collection also brought forth a selection of silks and satins with ombré hues that were featured as rips along the legs, showing off skin. Dramatic layering, with sheer fabric being used on outerwear pieces such as skirts, trenches and dresses, showed off the bare body beneath, and there was a fashionable fine line between nighties and daytime business-wear.

Prada is determined to bring back the trend of skinny pants, and has made them a staple in the Spring 2023 wardrobe. Launched with a number of style options, whether layered beneath trench coats and oversized blazers or with a matching, form-fitting button down, Prada reimagines businesswear chic. Seen on the runway, models wore trousers under a sheer knee-length tunic, which is a bold new take on the popular dress-and-pants trend. Along with this, each look was almost styled with a pair of heeled Mary Janes.
