Luxury fashion house Chanel presented its Spring/Summer 2023 Collection during the Paris Fashion Week. The show took inspiration by Alain Resnais’ Last Year in Marienbad (1961) film, and was a collage of glamour imagined by designer Virginie Viard. Taking a free stroll through fragments, and exploring an imaginary world confronted with itself, Chanel's woman for the season was the epitome of freedom of movement and expression, and was all about a sophisticated allure, modernity and lightness Models walked down the runway in layers of silk chiffon, roomy separates and chic and easy, loose silhouettes. This season, even pearl and feather embellishments didn't feel too heavy, instead added to the airiness of the pieces. Footwear of the collection included practical flats, boots and low heels, but the bags were all fun - ultra-mini boxes, heart-shaped satchels and oval crossbodies. Seen in the Chanel front row was house ambassador Kristen Stewart, wearing a striped sweatshirt and tweed mini skirt slung low at the waist, next to fellow brand ambassador Jennie, dressed in a one-shoulder knit mini with a matching oversized cardigan. Also in attendance were Diane Kruger, Halsey and Camila Morrone.
