Celine Summer 2023 Runway Collection

Celine's connection to Saint-Tropez is the inspiration that Hedi Slimane has used as the inspiration for the luxury brand's Summer 2023 Collection. The picturesque French coastal town is the focal point of the collection, which was presented on an ocean-side runway, with the models dressed in ensembles that went perfectly with the spirit of joie de vivre. The array of designs presented on the runway juxtaposed shapes and silhouettes, and prominent pieces in the collection included jersey and crochet tops that seemed like swimwear, and were worn with boxy blazers and edgy leather jackets.

The fashion brand also brings back the skinny jeans of the early aughts, and the ultra-tapered denim made a bang on the runway, paired with timeless suede jackets adorned with regal gold buttons and styled on the models with shimmering ballet flats. The Serena Van Der Woodsen approved Celine “Conti” handbag was also carried by the models, that added volume and size where the skinny jeans lacked. The iconic saddle bag is hand-finished in supple leather and was presented in shades of Polished Black and Amber Crocodile.

Apparel of the collection include low-waisted mini-skirts in a selection of fabrics, from leather and denim to a military print. Nautical striped shirts were also worn by the models, paired with leg-baring shorts and boyish sailor caps, and a chic two-piece skirt set caught instant attention, that was the perfect blend of sass with a bikini top underneath.
