Prada Fall/Winter 2023 Milan Fashion Week Runway

Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons are known to come up with magical and cohesive collections that have a subtle edge, luxury, and boast of the brand's exquisite craftsmanship. For Fall/Winter 2023, the Italian fashion House opened the doors to its Milanese headquarters, and put on a show titled “Recycling Beauty.” Held during the Milan Fashion Week, the show revalued Prada’s identity for the next generation, and put on a modern spin to its formal wardrobe. The star-studded fashion show was opened to thumping beats that made the floors vibrate, and the techno quickly transitioned into Strauss Waltz’s 1866 symphony “The Blue Danube.”

The very first look on the runway set the tone for the rest of the collection, and the tailored, office-appropriate collection featured delicate cashmere knitwear and a lace maxi skirt embroidered with crafty paper-like flowers. The collection also saw masculine and feminine energies merge in the form of oversized suede suiting, silk button-downs, and form-fitting trousers. Tailored dresses were detailed with distorted neckties and utility shoulder detailing, while wool variations were seen in soft pastels. The Prada runway was graced by top models including Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, who were dressed in cozy overcoats and coordinating bottoms in hues of muted greys and browns.

The runway also saw a selection of unisex suiting that featured exaggerated lapels that sat neatly on standard blazer collars. Midway, the runway began to show off cropped jackets and skirts for the cold weather, while military-inspired looks also dominated the runway. Smudged graphics were also a part of the collection, while the formal wear remained luxurious.
