Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2023 Paris Fashion Week Show

Alluring and mesmerizing, luxury fashion house Alexander McQueen presented its Fall/Winter 2023 Collection during the Paris Fashion Week. With a touch of opulence and extravagance, the collection explores beauty and power, and also examines human anatomy, the anatomy of clothing, and the anatomy of flower. The designs keep the focus on cut, proportion and silhouette, inspired by the body within. The high-end British fashion brand also revisits the construction of clothes before turning it upside down, keeping the orchid flower motif prominent throughout the collection. Captivating and intense, with the touch of Alexander McQueen glamour, the latest collection proves Sarah Burton can easily bring theatricality to her ensembles with ease.

The foundations of fashion, cut on the body and inspired by the body within. The classic subverted: turned inside out and upside down. Volume is neat – strict – or exploded. Garments are dissected: slashed, sliced and twisted. Shoulders are strong. Waists are narrow. Heeled trousers elongate the leg: the bumster in reverse. The most prominent motif in the collection is the orchid, in its rarer forms cultivated but, after the daisy, the most common flower. It thrives in the air, resists being rooted and grows in the wild. Extraordinarily beautiful and infinitely adaptable, the orchid mimics both predator and prey.
