Jakke, a brand based in East London, is launching its first ready-to-wear collection for the Spring/Summer 2023 season. Known for its ethical faux furs, the new line features a range of clothing, from airy T-shirts to lightweight dresses and matching ensembles. Reflecting California's carefree and relaxed vibe, the collection is perfect for daydreaming under the sun. Creative Director Nina Hopkins drew inspiration from British painter David Hockney's famous artwork, "A Bigger Splash," imbuing Jakke's SS23 range with the same leisurely contemplation.
The collection includes pool blue striped shirts, voluminous bubblegum pink dresses, patterned sets, and demure drop-waist shifts, all designed to evoke a sense of calmness and playfulness. Jakke has also introduced its first footwear, the Leah sandal, made of vegan leather. The brand's commitment to ethical manufacturing is evident in the collection, which is 100 percent cruelty-free and 75 percent sustainable, featuring recycled polyester and TENCEL, a natural fiber derived from wood pulp.
