From Georgina to Heidi Klum: Hits and Misses at the amfAR Gala in Cannes

The most anticipated party of the Cannes Film Festival returns, in a year where the biggest trend on the red carpet has been transparency.

Coinciding with the final days of the Cannes Film Festival, the French city hosts one of its most important parties of the year, where glamour reaches unimaginable levels. Everyone wants to be the best dressed, however, sometimes they take such risks that they end up on the opposite extreme, giving us the worst looks of the night.

Léna Mahfouf

The YouTuber, also known as Léna Situations, paid tribute to Jennifer Lopez by wearing the singer's most iconic dress: the silk Versace gown with an infinite neckline and jungle print that caused a social revolution.

Alessandra Ambrosio

The model arrived wearing a dress that would become the leitmotif of the night: transparency. In her case, she opted for a jeweled design with a very pronounced V-neckline and a feathered shawl to add dimension and movement.

Maye Musk

Elon Musk's mother knows how to shine (literally) at 72 years old, choosing one of the biggest trends of the season: silver sequins. She wore a head-to-toe metallic look with a blazer, blouse, and pants. Even her bag and shoes matched the ensemble.

Halima Aden

The first miss of the night goes to model Halima Aden. For the gala, she chose a mint green silk dress with a purple velvet bow and feathers. The design of the skirt is outdated, and the numerous attention-grabbing elements become a bit overwhelming.

Stella Maxwell

This former Victoria's Secret angel combined a classic design with modern and trendy touches to create one of the best looks of the night. She wore a black dress with a faux V-neckline made of tulle, emerging from a halter neckline with a sparkling collar. The special touch was added by the matching opera gloves and her blond finger waves.

Isabeli Fontana

The Brazilian model not only wore pants but also became the only one to wear leggings on a red carpet without breaking the dress code. She chose a total look by Mugler, featuring the brand's iconic transparencies.

Elsa Hosk

The Swedish model chose a design that could either be a great success or an absolute disaster. However, she skillfully carried off this transparent white dress with a boat neckline, cut-outs on the abdomen, and a skirt with a center slit.

Emma Weymouth

The UK's marchioness, Emma Weymouth, arrived on the red carpet as if she were a princess (specifically, Elsa from 'Frozen'). She also opted for transparency, although in a very subtle way. The blue accents of the look highlighted her skin, while the cape, feathers, and sparkling details gave her an ethereal air.

Rebel Wilson

The comedy actress showcased her elegant side with a simple bottle green dress that looked spectacular on her, proving that sometimes less is more. The corseted neckline, along with the gathered waist, accentuated her hourglass figure.

Eva Longoria

Once again, we see transparency, this time on Eva Longoria. The actress chose a fairly simple look with black sequins, a high neck, and long sleeves. However, the skirt became translucent to showcase her enviable legs.

Daphne Guinness

Although we loved the dress with transparency, shimmer, and a net pattern worn by Daphne Guinness, the accessories ruined the look completely. Between the headdress, the waist-crossing necklace, the bracelets, and the platforms, they overshadowed the dress, which was already quite eye-catching on its own.

Sara Sampaio

The model knows what suits her best, so it's no surprise that she chose this turquoise blue chiffon dress with an incredible skirt slit, cut-outs, and an asymmetrical neckline by Zuhair Murad.

Halsey

The singer hasn't had much luck with her recent red carpet looks, and it seems that streak continues. On this occasion, she chose a pink dress with transparencies that didn't quite suit her, just like the black accessories she opted for.

The singer went for a very unflattering look. The design didn't complement her figure well, as the skirt appeared quite tight, the dusty pink didn't quite match her skin tone, and the style of her look and hairstyle were completely different.

Coco Rocha once again demonstrated why she is one of the best models of our generation, opting for a total look in Klein blue, even down to the matching shoes. The asymmetrical neckline and modern volumes left us mesmerized.

Georgina Rodríguez

Although she was explosive as always, Georgina surprised us with a more elegant look than usual. She wore a Bardot neckline dress with a side slit in the skirt, crocodile print matching her shoes, and a large diamond collar with a ruby as the centerpiece.

One of the most glamorous of the night was Czech model Petra Nemcova, who wore an impressive strapless red dress with a significant slit in the skirt.

Heidi Klum

Last but certainly not least, we have Heidi Klum. If she dazzled us the other day with an impressive yellow dress, she didn't lower the bar yesterday either. She appeared in a pastel green look with an asymmetrical length, adorned with feathers and a long train, proving that there's nothing that looks bad on her.
