Jon Bon Jovi on His Son's Engagement: Growing Together is the Key
Jon Bon Jovi opens up about son's engagement to Millie Bobby Brown - discover his take on young love and handling criticism!
Jon Bon Jovi, a rockstar with a long and successful marriage with his wife, Dorothea Hurley, for over three decades, recently shared his thoughts on his son's engagement. His 20-year-old son, Jake Bongiovi, just got engaged to 19-year-old Millie Bobby Brown after almost two years of being together. In a candid interview with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM's "Andy Cohen Live" on 2 May, he discussed his feelings about his son's engagement and how he feels about the criticism they're receiving for being too young.
Bon Jovi, who has four children with Hurley, including Bongiovi, Stephanie (30), Jesse (28), and Romeo Bongiovi (19), shared that he's no stranger to his kids getting engaged. He said that Bongiovi's April engagement is "the latest" of his children to make the big decision. He also revealed that he is not too concerned about their age difference. "I don't know if age matters. You know, if you find the right partner and you grow together, I think that would be my advice really, is growing together is wise," he said.
The criticism surrounding Bongiovi and Brown's engagement stems from their young age, but Bon Jovi is confident that they are the perfect match for each other. He said, "I think that all of my kids have found the people that they think they can grow together with, and we like 'em all." He also spoke fondly of Brown and her family. "Millie is wonderful. Her whole family is great. Jake is very happy," he added.
As someone with a long and successful marriage, Bon Jovi knows a thing or two about what it takes to make a relationship last. His advice is to grow together and find the right partner. By doing this, he believes that age becomes irrelevant. With his unwavering support for his son's engagement, it's clear that Bon Jovi prioritizes his son's happiness above anything else.
