Kate Middleton Honors Late Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth II at King Charles III's Coronation
Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, pays tribute to the late Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth II during King Charles III's coronation.
Over the weekend, Kate Middleton attended the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla at Westminster Abbey. The Duchess of Cambridge paid tribute to both Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana in her outfit and accessories.
Kate wore a stunning white formal dress from Alexander McQueen, which had silver floral beaded trim and embroidery at the hem. The motifs of rose, thistle, daffodil, and shamrock symbolized the four nations of the United Kingdom. She paired the dress with white pointed-toe pumps, adding a boost of height with 3 to 4 inch stiletto heels.
Kate's headwear was a collaboration between Jess Collett and Alexander McQueen. The dazzling crown featured blooming silver flowers and leaves with diamond detailing. To honor Princess Diana, Kate wore pearl and diamond earrings that belonged to her late mother-in-law. She also donned the George VI Festoon necklace, a diamond piece belonging to former Queen Elizabeth II.
The Coronation Service, which is a religious and formal ceremony that precedes the King's Procession, was held at Westminster Abbey and conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla later joined other members of the Royal family in a parade towards Buckingham Palace. Charles became King following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8, 2022.
