Kim Kardashian is Decked in Pearls for the 2023 Met Gala

Kim Kardashian turned heads at the 2023 Met Gala as she arrived with her 11-year-old daughter North West, who made her Met debut alongside her mother. Kardashian's outfit was a nod to her famous 2007 “Playboy” photoshoot, as she donned a nude satin Schiaparelli bodysuit. The plunging piece featured a bra-like top and high-waisted base with a cutout bodice, which was layered with an impressive 50,000 freshwater pearls, draped in a similar fashion to her iconic Playboy shoot.

To complete the look, Kardashian accessorized with a thick silver and crystal filigree choker strung with teardrop pearls and an off-the-shoulder white satin jacket. Her footwear of choice was a pair of matte white sandals, which featured thin rounded leather soles, slingback and ankle straps, and squared stiletto heels. White pearls lined the pair’s thin toe straps for a retro finish, complementing the pearls in Kardashian’s attire.

North West coordinated with her mother, sporting a pale pink tweed Chanel jacket, T-shirt, and distressed blue jeans. She paired the outfit with black lug-sole boots and layered Chanel pearl necklaces, drop earrings, and a pearl-shaped clutch, which Kardashian had previously carried to the 2023 Time 100 Gala.

The Met Gala is a fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and celebrates the Costume Institute’s annual exhibits. This year’s theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” honors the life and career of the legendary designer. Notably, the 2023 event was co-chaired by Dua Lipa, Roger Federer, Michaela Coel, Penelope Cruz, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
