Laetitia Casta is the Face of Calzedonia Swimwear Collection

Calzedonia, the Italian innerwear, hosiery, and swimwear group, has announced French model and actress Laetitia Casta as the face of its 2023 swimwear collection. She will feature in a campaign, set to release on Wednesday, for Calzedonia's spring-summer swimwear collection, which includes a 10-piece capsule line of one-piece swimsuits exclusively available in France.

According to Calzedonia, Casta was chosen as the brand ambassador due to her being a French icon and sharing the same values of femininity and boldness as the brand. This marks the first time the group has worked with a French personality, though it has previously worked with Julia Roberts for a series of TV ad campaigns.

Calzedonia's global network of 2,193 stores in 55 countries includes around 10% in France, where it has been increasing its presence. In September, it showcased its legwear at Paris Fashion Week, revealing that Jennifer Lopez would be the new face of its Intimissimi brand.

Swimwear accounts for around 30% of Calzedonia's sales, with one-piece swimsuits particularly popular in France. Casta's favorite styles include the red Lione with a cutout back and the black Dallas with a sweetheart neckline.

Casta was a Victoria's Secret Angel from 1998 to 2000 and has previously worked with brands such as Guess, Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton. Casta appreciates Calzedonia's positioning, offering bikinis starting at $30, as she believes in making fashion accessible. Casta has also hinted that she may venture into fashion design herself, though the project is still confidential.
