"The magic of the temples of Angkor Wat, a fragment of exquisite brocade from the 18th century... the mind traverses memories and suggestions, blending them without logic or rational hierarchy, instinctively arriving in nameless, fantastical locations," he mused. This voyage inspired his spring collection, aptly named "Nowhere."
Although De Vincenzo may not be a philosopher, "Nowhere" encapsulates a concept that sparks multifaceted contemplation. In the realm of fashion, "Nowhere" represents a space where the art of infinite combinations flourishes. De Vincenzo elaborated, stating, "This collection resides in 'Nowhere,' as it melds my vision, illusions, and obsessions with Etro's unparalleled expertise in sourcing the world's rarest patterns and fabrics."
De Vincenzo's audacious and unconventional approach acted as the cohesive force behind the collection, despite its visually eclectic blend of graphics and sumptuous textures. He explained, "However, there are no references, no identifiable attributions; everything comes to life in a magical 'no-place.'" Unafraid to embrace challenging silhouettes, unexpected juxtapositions of proportions, and intricate construction techniques, such as twisting, knotting, braiding, and slicing, De Vincenzo is carving a unique and vibrant niche for Etro.
