During a captivating conversation on Saturday, Olivia Rodrigo joined Eva Chen, Instagram’s director of fashion partnerships, at the Spotify and American Express pop-up gallery celebrating her latest album, "Guts," released on September 8. For the occasion, the "Vampire" singer slipped into a pair of striking red mules priced at $380 from the Gen Z-founded brand Maile, which boasts smooth leather soles and 3.35-inch heels.

Designed by Maile Schmidt, the "Kitty" style featured two crossed V-shaped straps—one slender and one slightly wider—for a chic cutout effect, instantly evoking memories of slip-on heels that became iconic during the '90s. In a serendipitous fashion moment, Eva Chen also chose Maile heels for the event, creating a harmonious duo with Rodrigo on stage. Chen's $350 "Kourtney" style sported black vegan leather uppers with 3.35-inch wedge heels, adorned with graceful straps adorned with natural pearls.

Rodrigo's vintage-inspired and nostalgic approach to fashion seamlessly aligned with Schmidt's brand philosophy, which is equally spirited and versatile.

Speaking exclusively to FN this summer at her brand's official launch party, Schmidt described her vision, saying, "She's a city girl with an island heart. She wants to be able to go from work to cocktail hour, and she's strolling the New York streets in heels. She's fun, sophisticated, and sexy—all the feminine qualities that I think you can truly see in the collection."

Rodrigo chose to pair her Maile mules with an equally '90s-inspired dress: a black knee-length slip dress adorned with delicate matching lace trim. The dress featured red and pink floral embroidery, as well as whimsical strap accents that harmonized perfectly with the "Bad Idea Right?" singer's footwear, resulting in a coordinated and stylish ensemble.
