Jacquemus Spring/Summer 2024 Runway Show

As the winter sun cast its golden rays upon the picturesque coast of Nice, France, Simon Porte Jacquemus unveiled his Spring/Summer 2024 collection in a mesmerizing runway show. Known for his extravagant post-fashion week displays, which previously welcomed floating guests to Louis XIV’s Palace of Versailles, Jacquemus once again captivated audiences with his latest offering.

The House of Jacquemus has carved a niche for itself with star-studded showcases that overflow with virality, and SS24 proved to be no exception. Following the conclusion of Paris Fashion Week Men’s and Haute Couture, international glitterati lingered on French soil, eager to bask in the radiant sunshine before returning to their chilled city abodes.

Dubbed "Les Sculptures," the SS24 collection showcased Jacquemus' mastery and paid homage to the late Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti. A-list attendees, including Kylie Jenner, Kristin Davis, and Julia Roberts, bore witness to a new era for the brand, characterized by innovation and contemporary luxury.

Gigi Hadid set the tone as she opened the show, donning a full-leather ensemble adorned with tonal crocodile texture, oversized belting, and voluminous sleeves. Her presence signaled the beginning of a parade of unconventional tailoring and warped silhouettes, with boat neck openings dominating the scene.

Seamless blazers draped elegantly over the female form, while reinterpretations of workwear boasted concealed pockets and striped shirting. Trousers took on transformative shapes, transitioning from orbiting to low-slung tops, and frozen tugged trousers reminiscent of JW Anderson's SS24 range.

Amidst the grandeur, Jacquemus also refined modern staples with elevated fabrications. Crewneck tees were meticulously tailored for a flawless fit, while baggy leather trousers and over-the-shoulder knits exuded casual sophistication in rich red tones.

The collection reached its crescendo with an explosion of fringed detailing, adorning modern tailoring, asymmetrical dresses, and summer-ready jumpsuits. The SS24 runway culminated in Simon Porte Jacquemus' minimalist interpretation of progressive bridalwear—a breathtaking envelope-style gown with sharp edges and a sheer veil, leaving an indelible mark on the audience and closing the show in a flourish of innovation and sophistication.
