Meghan Markle and Prince Harry – Trooping the Colour Ceremony

According to royal commentator Josh Rom, Hollywood's spotlight seems to be favoring King Charles and Prince William over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, despite the Sussexes' efforts to make a mark in the entertainment industry with lucrative deals from Netflix and Spotify.

Speaking to Sky News Australia, Rom highlighted the apparent lack of support from Hollywood stars for Harry and Meghan, contrasting it with Prince William's recent presence at the 77th BAFTAs, where he mingled with renowned figures like Cate Blanchett and David Beckham. This disparity underscores the irony of the Sussexes' Hollywood aspirations compared to the overwhelming Royal support received by King Charles and the Prince of Wales.

"I find it almost ironic that Prince Harry and Meghan are trying to make it in Hollywood, but yet it's the King and Prince William that are receiving more support from the stage and screen," Rom remarked.

Reflecting on Meghan's acting career before her marriage to Prince Harry, Rom noted that her role in "Suits" did not catapult her to the top echelons of Hollywood's A-list. He suggested that her global recognition primarily stems from her association with the Royal Family rather than her acting prowess.

"She was hardly Angelina Jolie, she wasn't at the top of the A-list circuit. Certain sources have told me, before she was a Royal, that she and her former press representative would be meeting the tabloids to get Meghan into the press to further her career. She's only been elevated to the world stage because of Prince Harry," Rom added.

Despite Rom's observations, there's a counter-narrative from PR expert Lynn Carratt from Press Box PR, who believes that Harry and Meghan are on the path to reclaiming their popularity in Hollywood. Carratt suggests that their recent successful press tour in Canada to promote the upcoming Invictus games indicates a positive trajectory for "Brand Sussex," potentially restoring some of their lost popularity.
