Sportmax's Fall Winter 2024-2025 ready-to-wear collection mesmerized audiences with its fusion of eroticism and nostalgia, paying homage to 1980s music icons while reimagining traditional symbols of femininity with a dark sensuality.
The runway, set against the backdrop of the Triennale design museum, was bathed in crimson light and featured mirrored flooring, creating an atmosphere of tantalizing allure. Dubbed "Camera Obscura," the show drew inspiration from singer Nico's iconic 1985 album, infusing it with a contemporary twist that challenged conventional notions of femininity.
At the heart of the collection was the subversion of traditional feminine symbols, as corsetry, military outerwear, and white-collar uniforms were transformed into vehicles of sultry expression. Obi- and corset-like belts cinched waists, accentuating slender silhouettes enhanced by structured shoulders reminiscent of the bold fashion statements of the 1980s.
Corset constructions played a pivotal role in simultaneously highlighting and concealing body shapes, adorning gunmetal gray woolen midi frocks and strapless jumpsuits with a provocative allure. Marabou shawls and tinsel cache-coeur draped casually added an air of decadence to the ensembles, blurring the lines between innocence and seduction.
Vinyl and glossy red leather accents injected a dose of edginess, contrasting against body-con knit frocks and oversized shirts with elongated sleeves. Through strategically placed see-through panels and daring cutouts, the collection embraced the ethos of eroticism with a modern twist.
