MCM launches debut Ramadan collection

German luxury fashion house MCM has stepped into the Ramadan season with the launch of its inaugural Ramadan capsule collection, marking a significant milestone for the brand. This exclusive line is the result of a creative partnership with Dubai-based tastemaker and creative consultant Hanan Houachmi, known for her refined aesthetic and deep understanding of luxury fashion.

The collection is designed to redefine contemporary modest wear for Ramadan, blending the iconic MCM style with the functionality and elegance required for the holy month. Key pieces include a shirt dress, a hooded kaftan dress, and wide-leg trousers, all crafted from a lightweight fabric adorned with MCM's Lauretos monogram print. This seamless integration of MCM's heritage with modern modest dressing is a nod to the brand's innovative approach to fashion.

A highlight of the collection is the ability to style these pieces with MCM's signature accessories, such as the diamond buckle belt, a double-sided Lauretos silk scarf in Chambray blue, and the Himmel shoulder bag. The latter is a masterpiece in itself, crafted from Italian satin and natural Nappa leather, and embellished with Swarovski crystals, embodying the luxury and craftsmanship MCM is celebrated for.

The development of the Ramadan collection was a collaborative effort involving Hanan Houachmi, MCM Creative Director Katie Chung, and Sabine Brunner, the Global Commercial and Brand Officer and President of MCM Global AG. This partnership underscores MCM's commitment to honoring the traditions of Ramadan while pushing the envelope in design and innovation.

Hanan Houachmi expressed her gratitude for the collaboration, highlighting the importance of her role as a modest Arab woman in shaping the collection. This sentiment underscores the inclusive and forward-thinking approach MCM has adopted in creating this collection.

To commemorate the launch, MCM enlisted influencer Leena Al Ghouti for the campaign, captured by renowned photographer Francesco Scotti, showcasing the collection's versatility and appeal.

The Ramadan capsule collection by MCM is now available for purchase through the brand's official website and select stores globally, including the London flagship on Conduit Street, as well as locations in Dubai, Kuwait, Germany, Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore.
