Bee Gees Drummer Dennis Bryon Dies at 76, Just Days Before Colin 'Smiley' Petersen

The music world mourns the loss of Dennis Bryon, the former drummer for the Bee Gees, who passed away at the age of 76 on Thursday, November 14, in Nashville. His death comes just four days before the passing of Colin "Smiley" Petersen, the band’s original drummer, at 78.

Dennis Bryon was an integral part of the Bee Gees’ lineup from 1973 to 1981, contributing to their iconic sound during a pivotal era in their career. Fellow musician Blue Weaver, who played with Dennis in the Welsh rock group Amen Corner, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook, expressing his shock and sadness:

“I am lost for words at the moment… Dennis has passed away. His great drumming will always Stay Alive.”

Weaver also shared that Dennis’s wife, Kayte, had asked him to inform fans and friends of the tragic news.

Four days after Dennis’s death, Colin "Smiley" Petersen, the Bee Gees’ original drummer, passed away on November 18. Colin was instrumental to the group’s early success, helping shape their sound during its formative years.
