Catherine Tyldesley Opens Up About Career and Motherhood on Prima UK Cover
From runway to red carpet, explore fashion trends, model buzz, celebrity looks, and expert editorials that define modern style.
Catherine Tyldesley kicks off 2025 as the cover star of Prima UK’s February issue, sharing insights into her career, personal life, and motherhood.
Catherine graces the cover wearing a chic shirt and trousers by Serena Bute, styled by Tess Wright, with photography by Nicky Johnston. Her polished look is complemented by makeup artist Marcos Gurgel and hairstylist Dino Pereira using Malin + Goetz.
In the interview, Catherine reflects on filming her latest project, The Good Ship Murder, alongside former Coronation Street co-star Shayne Ward. “We’re like the naughty kids at school who shouldn’t be sat together!” she joked. “We’ve got that relationship, which gives us good chemistry. Shayne kept me sane during season one. I’d just had a baby, and his other half, Sophie, had also just had a baby, so we propped each other up emotionally while missing the kids.”
Catherine also opened up about her post-pregnancy journey and the challenges she faced after the birth of her second child. “My relationship with my body is probably like most women: up and down,” she said. “After my second child, I didn’t feel like myself. I felt unfit, weak, and vulnerable. Pregnancy left me battling hyperemesis, chronic sickness, and insomnia. It got to the point where the doctor said, ‘We need to do something because your quality of life is really bad.’”
Looking back on her time as Eva Price in Coronation Street, Catherine highlighted key moments, including Eva’s wedding and the impactful storyline surrounding Aidan’s suicide. “It was incredibly difficult to film, but it made such a difference,” she noted. “The week the episode aired, calls to Samaritans, Mind, and Calm massively increased. That’s the power of a continuing drama.”
When asked about returning to Coronation Street, Catherine left the door open: “They’ve asked me to go back a couple of times, but I was busy with other projects. If the timing and storyline were right, of course, I’d go back. Never say never.”
This candid interview offers fans a closer look at Catherine’s resilience, talent, and continued dedication to her craft.
