KENZO’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, Ritmo KENZO, is a vibrant fusion of Japanese heritage and Brazilian zest, capturing the rhythm and energy of Rio de Janeiro. Under the artistic direction of Nigo, the campaign pays tribute to the Maison’s roots while embracing the dynamic spirit of Brazil.
Shot by renowned photographers Johnny Dufort and Frank Lebon, the campaign immerses us in Rio’s iconic streets and sunlit beaches. Capoeira dancers, striking sunsets, and fluid silhouettes embody the movement and freedom that define the collection.
One of the standout motifs is the KENZO Chiku-Rin Camo, a fresh reinterpretation of vintage kimonos adorned with bamboo patterns, seamlessly blending tradition with modern global aesthetics. The KENZO Weave, inspired by classic Japanese firefighter coats, reappears as a monogrammed design woven into jackets, denim, and workwear. Meanwhile, the KENZO Furoshiki Bag reinvents traditional Japanese fabric wrapping with bold cracked Italian leather, adding a luxurious touch.
Further elevating the collection, mesh garments embellished with hand-embroidered beads and jewels reflect the celebratory essence of Rio’s beach culture. The collection’s fluid silhouettes evoke a sense of movement, celebrating unity through fashion.
