Netflix Star Kim Sae-ron’s Tragic Death: Cause Revealed as Suicide

South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron, best known for her role in the 2023 Netflix hit series Bloodhounds, has died by suicide at the age of 24, according to police reports. The young star was found dead at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on Sunday afternoon by a friend who had planned to meet her. Authorities confirmed there were no signs of foul play and are treating the case as a suicide.

Kim Sae-ron, who began her acting career at just 9 years old, gained widespread recognition for her roles in the 2010 action film The Man from Nowhere and the 2012 thriller The Neighbor. However, her career faced a significant setback in May 2022 when she was involved in a drunk driving incident, crashing her car into a roadside electrical transformer box. The incident led to public backlash, a $20 million won fine, and her withdrawal from the drama series Trolley.

Despite attempting a comeback last year, Kim struggled with health issues that forced her to step away from the spotlight once again. Her final project was the action-packed Netflix series Bloodhounds.

Throughout her career, Kim Sae-ron received numerous accolades, including the “Best New Actress” award at several Korean arts awards ceremonies. Her untimely death has left fans and the entertainment industry in mourning.
