Lily-Rose Depp marked a milestone moment at the 2025 Oscars, attending the ceremony for the first time as a presenter for the Best Costume Design category. The Nosferatu star, whose film is nominated in the category, chose a custom Chanel Couture gown for the occasion, embodying Old Hollywood glamour with a modern twist.
Depp’s black floral lace halter dress, inspired by an archival piece from Chanel’s spring 1995 couture collection, featured intricate embroidery with black sequins, crystals, and pearls. The design took 515 hours to create and incorporated 191,000 embroidery elements. “We wanted the dress to feel true to that inspiration, but also quintessentially Chanel haute couture,” Depp told Vogue.
The actress accessorized with Chanel High Jewelry, including the Motif Russe necklace and bracelet made of 18-karat white gold and diamonds. Reflecting on the collaboration, Depp shared, “It’s been a dream working with the incredible Chanel team to make something that truly turned out like an absolute dream come true.”
Depp also teased a second Chanel look for the after-parties, promising to make the most of her first Oscars experience. “I’m going to change into something fun and hit the after party since it’s my first time, and see what it’s all about!” she said.
