Ariana Grande Returns to VMAs in Custom Fendi Gown with Polka Dot Peplum Drama
Ariana Grande makes her VMAs comeback in a strapless Fendi gown with bold pink peplum, black polka dots, and her signature glam.
Pop icon Ariana Grande made her long-awaited VMAs return after five years, and she didn’t hold back. The Eternal Sunshine singer swept onto the 2025 red carpet at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, wearing a custom Fendi gown designed by none other than Law Roach.
The dress embraced one of fashion’s most polarizing trends: the peplum. Grande’s black strapless gown featured a sweetheart neckline and floor-length column skirt, elevated by a voluminous ruffled pink peplum covered in black and white polka dots. Originally seen on the runway as a minidress, the piece was reimagined for Grande’s grand VMAs comeback.
She finished the look with towering black stiletto heels, a matching polka-dot bow, and a sleek middle ponytail that showed off her strawberry-blonde locks. Her glam was pure Ariana: glowing skin, winged eyeliner, rosy cheeks, glossy pink lips, and a crisp white manicure.
The Wicked star had reason to dress like a winner—she’s up for seven awards this year, including Video of the Year and Best Pop Artist.
Grande’s last VMAs outing was back in 2020, where she performed in intergalactic purple with high ponytails and a face mask. Before that, her memorable 2018 red carpet moment with then-boyfriend Pete Davidson cemented her status as a fashion risk-taker. In 2025, she’s proving once again: when Ariana shows up, she owns the spotlight.
