Rachel Scott Named Creative Director of Proenza Schouler, Poised to Lead with Craft and Context
Diotima founder Rachel Scott is named creative director of Proenza Schouler—blending craftsmanship, heritage, and fresh perspective for 2026.
A new chapter begins at Proenza Schouler, as acclaimed designer Rachel Scott—founder of the CFDA-honored label Diotima—has officially been tapped as the brand’s creative director. Her appointment marks a pivotal moment for the brand, transitioning leadership from co-founders Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez (now at Loewe) to a fresh, craft-forward vision.
Rachel brings a layered sensibility: years of experience across global fashion houses, her own deeply rooted Diotima brand grounded in Jamaican craftsmanship, and a bold aesthetic that reimagines tailoring and texture. Her early collaboration with the Proenza team has already shaped the upcoming Spring/Summer 2026 lineup—giving way to a more intimate preview of her aesthetic voice. Her formal debut arrives in February 2026, with the brand’s first Fall/Winter 2026 collection guided entirely under her vision.
In her own words, Scott expressed deep admiration for Proenza’s roots, stating:
“It is with great excitement that I join Proenza Schouler, a brand at the heart of American fashion… I look forward to bringing my perspective in dialogue with their legacy.”
Proenza Schouler’s CEO, Shira Suveyke Snyder, praised the creative addition:
“Rachel brings a fresh and female perspective to a brand built on the spirit of the modern American woman… Her profound understanding of Proenza Schouler’s brand codes, paired with her exceptional ability to marry craft with innovation, made her the natural choice to lead the brand forward.”
