Rosalía Shows Off Bleached Armpit Hair at Paris Fashion Week
Rosalía shows off bleached armpit hair at the Julie Kegels show in Paris, in a black-and-white halter, pleated slit skirt and lace stockings.
Paris Fashion Week is barely a day old and Rosalía has already given everyone something to argue about. Not the outfit, really. The armpits.
The Motomami singer headed to Julie Kegels' show on Monday, leaving the Ritz in a black-and-ivory look that read like a tuxedo someone took apart and put back together wrong (in a good way). On top was a halter with layered panels that faked a plunging neckline, a cutout at the side and a bare back. A black halter vest was knotted at the neck and left hanging down the front like a tie.
The skirt did the same trick. Black pleats sat over an ivory wrap, worn low on the hips with a string tie at the side and a slit cut very, very high. Thigh-high black floral lace stockings and black satin ballet pumps, ribbons wrapped up her legs, finished it off. It's basically a gothic aesthetic outfit with a tailoring problem, and we mean that as a compliment.
And then she lifted her arms. Rosalía has grown out her underarm hair and bleached it white, which, to be fair, matches the outfit perfectly.
The internet did not take it calmly. One commenter said it looked like chicken feathers. Plenty of others told the critics to mind their own business, and a few just called the whole thing pointless.
Rosalía's own take was funnier than any of it. When someone on Instagram asked if shaving was really that hard, she said yes, but dyeing it costs more, so they were welcome for the service.
Honestly? Fair point.
