Yungblud Honors Ozzy Osbourne Wearing His Cross Necklace at VMAs 2025
Yungblud wore Ozzy Osbourne’s gold cross necklace on the 2025 VMAs red carpet, honoring the late Black Sabbath legend with a touching tribute.
Yungblud brought more than just style to the 2025 MTV VMAs red carpet — he brought sentiment. The 27-year-old rocker arrived shirtless in a leather jacket and matching low-rise pants, but it was the necklace around his neck that carried the deepest meaning.
The singer wore the gold cross necklace gifted to him by the late Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away in July at age 76. Osbourne had given Yungblud the treasured piece during the filming of his 2022 music video “The Funeral.” In turn, Yungblud later returned the gesture, presenting Osbourne with a custom cross during his final performance earlier this summer.
Their friendship went far beyond jewelry. Yungblud posted a heartfelt tribute to Ozzy after his passing, writing: “Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own. I didn’t think you would leave so soon… your laugh filled up the room.” He also vowed to play Black Sabbath’s “Changes” every night “for the rest of my life.”
While not nominated this year, Yungblud is set to honor his late friend on stage at New York’s UBS Arena, performing alongside Nuno Bettencourt, Steven Tyler, and Joe Perry of Aerosmith in a tribute to Osbourne. “Good ’ol rock and roll in the name of the king,” he teased ahead of the show.
From leather-clad swagger to the meaningful gold cross glinting on his chest, Yungblud’s VMAs look was more than fashion — it was legacy.
