The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, 27, announced on Monday that she has officially parted ways with her talent agency after its CEO was named in documents connected to the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Roan explained her decision without naming Epstein directly, writing that “no artist, agent or employee should be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values.”
“I have deep respect and appreciation for the agents and staff who work tirelessly for their artists,” she added, “and I refuse to stand by.” Roan went on to say that artists “deserve representation that aligns with their values,” calling her departure a reflection of her belief that real change in the industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust.
Roan had been represented by Wasserman, one of the largest agencies in the entertainment industry. The company is led by CEO Casey Wasserman, who was named in documents released following the passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The law, approved overwhelmingly by Congress in November, compelled the Department of Justice to release records related to Epstein.
Wasserman has not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing. In a statement last month, he acknowledged exchanging what he described as flirtatious emails in 2003 with Ghislaine Maxwell, who was sentenced in 2022 to 20 years in prison for her role in Epstein’s abuse scheme.
Behind the scenes, Roan is not alone. Multiple artists are reportedly seeking to leave Wasserman following renewed scrutiny of the agency’s leadership. Sources say agents have presented Wasserman with an ultimatum to step down or divest, though he has so far declined. He is also facing mounting pressure tied to his role as chairman of the organizing committee for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
The agency’s artist roster — which includes major names like Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, SZA, and Joni Mitchell — was removed from its website in recent days, reportedly at the request of clients.
The moment comes during a highly visible stretch for Roan, who has quickly become one of pop’s most talked-about performers — both for her music and her fearless fashion choices. Just weeks ago, she made headlines at the 2026 Grammys with a dramatic pantsless corset-and-cape look, followed by a separate sheer Mugler moment on the red carpet that cemented her status as a breakout style risk-taker.
Now, with this move, Roan is once again drawing attention — not for what she wore, but for the values she’s choosing to stand behind.
