Dakota Johnson Wears Valentino Resort 2027 Dress to London Beauty Launch After Verity Premiere

Dakota Johnson turned September 24 in London into a two-look fashion moment, and both outfits leaned all the way into sheer dressing. The actress, known for Fifty Shades of Grey, The Lost Daughter and her upcoming psychological thriller Verity, started the night at the film's UK gala screening at Curzon Mayfair before heading straight to a Valentino Beauty launch party.

For the premiere, styled by Kate Young, Johnson wore an ivory Colleen Allen Spring 2026 sheer lace dress layered over Fleur du Mal lingerie, a slip-style look that fit right into the erotic-thriller mood of the film itself.

Hours later, she switched things up entirely for the Valentino event, appearing in a two-toned dress from the house's Resort 2027 collection. Adorned with a zigzagging pattern in lavender sequins and dangling fringe along the sleeves, the dress mixed orange and pale purple in a loud, joyful way that felt almost like a costume change rather than a second red-carpet look. A subtly see-through bodice kept her sheer streak going even inside the color-block pattern. She finished the Valentino look with the label's Fatale sandals. Johnson later told a reporter she'd actually changed into the dress in the car on the way over, joking about being followed by cameras during the switch.

Johnson has been a longtime fan of creative director Alessandro Michele's take on Valentino, having worn everything from Rockstud heels to floor-length capes from the house in the past. Verity, based on Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel, also stars Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett and follows a struggling writer drawn into a dark mystery while ghostwriting for a reclusive author. The film opens in UK theaters this fall.
